Bronze Cup goes to Ayala
Ayala team won Bronze Cup, first tournament of 46th International Polo Tournament, in Sotogrande, Spain. Match with Ayala and Brunei was a clash between Facundo Pieres and Pablo MacDonough, both 10-goals players.
Final score showed an 11-8 to Ayala that got trophy of 20-goals tournament playing with Iñigo Zobel, Peke Gonzalez, Facundo Pieres and Santiago Laborde. Next tournament in Sotogrande is Silver Cup, this Wednesday (2nd).
Invernada/Pec Vet wins Torneio de Orlândia
In a final held last Sunday (30th), at Mata Chica Polo Club, Invernada/Pec Vet defeated Mata Chica to win Torneio de Orlândia 2017. Winners’ squad had Eduardo Junqueira, Guzi Pimenta, Eduardo Parisi and Gito D. Junqueira. Five teams joined 12-goals tournament in Morro Agudo, São Paulo.
England is Coronation Cup champions
Playing in Guards Polo Club, England defeated International Commonwealth by 7-1, winning 2017 edition of Coronation Cup. Teams played under a rainy weather last Saturday (29th) and English squad recovered trophy lost last year.
England line-up had James Bein, Max Charlton, James Harper and Luke Tomlinson. International Commonwealth played with Hissam Ali Hyder, Dirk Gould, John Paul Clarking and Fred Mannix.
Rio de Janeiro’s tournaments schedule
Eight tournaments will take place in Rio de Janeiro in second half of 2017 season. Highlights for Taça Presidente, in August and Torneio Armando Klabin, in October, both held at Itanhangá Golf Club.
These are the scheduled competitions: Taça Presidente (August 4th to 6th), Taça Ronaldo Xavier (August 25th to 27th), Taça Independência do Brasil (September 15th to 17th), Torneio de Polo da AMAN (September 29th to October 1st), Torneio da Amizade (October 20th to 22nd), Torneio Armando Klabin (October 27th to 29th), Torneio de Polo Regimento Andrade Neves (November 1st to 3rd) and Torneio de Encerramento (November 11st to 13rd).
Open de Gassin ends in France
Chateau D’Aulne El Milagro are champions of Open de Gassin 12-15 goals in 2017. Team guaranteed after winning Antelope by 11,5-8. Winners played with Federico Tomasevich, Alexis Pouille de Balkany, Nito Uranga and Sebastián Harriott.
